Bending and stretching are NOT
required using a: Kentruck ERGO 800ET
The problem: Tony Rutteledge of Johnson Diversey was faced with a huge task, how to process and
pack 3/4 million plastic bottles each year into kits, supply them throughout the world and to do this
more cost effectively than far eastern competition.
The application: The empty bottles are delivered to the plant in corrugated stillages and need to be
put onto a production line for labelling and packing. This process had previously entailed the operator
having to repeatedly bend down and stretch into the stillage, giving rise to fears over repetitive strain
injuries and operator fatigue.
The solution: Handling Equipment Sales recommended the ERGO 800ET work positioner, which is
capable of lifting a pallet to 900mm and tilting 45°, this allows easy access to the bottom of the box.
The order for a ERGO 800ET was placed that same afternoon and delivered to site the next afternoon.
The truck was commissioned and had an immediate effect on production, the operator of the truck
stated that she felt her job had been revolutionised by the ERGO 800ET.
Johnson Diversey are already seeing how advantageous the ERGO800ET has proved to be and are
looking shortly to purchase a second machine for the line.
ERGO800— Makes it easy to transport and fill/empty boxes and crates. The forks have various options,
they can tilt either 45° each way or it is possible to have one side with a 90° tilt.
Coming soon: 180° tilt. The truck is available in manual and electric with many options to tailor the
range to the customer’s exact requirements.
